Refunds are not available once the classroom portion has started or completed, or if a student is dismissed for behavior. All refunds are processed within 30 days by company check.

Classroom & Scheduling

Q: What happens if I miss a class or lesson?
A:

  • Students (or parents/guardians for teens) must notify the school at least 48 hours in advance if they need to cancel or reschedule a classroom session or behind-the-wheel lesson.

  • A $75 cancellation fee will be charged if notice is not given within 48 hours.

  • This policy applies in all cases — including illness, withdrawal, termination of enrollment, or failure to attend.

  • The fee will be added to the student’s account and must be paid before continuing training.

Q: What happens if I fail the classroom written test?

A: Students are allowed to take the written test twice in the same day. If the student is not successful after the two attempts, they will need to contact the school to schedule another day to retake the test. There is no fee to retest. Students must score 80% or higher to pass the test.

Q: What time do I come to class?

A: On the first day of every class:

  • Adult Students: You must arrive by 5:00 PM to complete your paperwork.

  • Teen Students: You and your parent must arrive 30 minutes earlier for the mandatory teen orientation and to complete paperwork.

Behind-the-Wheel Training

Q: Do you provide pick-up and drop-off for lessons?
A:

  • Teens: We provide pick-up for the behind-the-wheel portion for teens on the Westbank only. If you live on the East Bank,  the teen must meet the instructor at the school. (Teens must be picked up on time)

  • Adults: Adults must meet at the school for all phases of training and testing.

Q: What should I wear for the behind-the-wheel lessons?
A: Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes (no sandals, flip-flops, or heels). Safety and proper footwear are required.

Q: Can I bring my phone in the car?
A: Yes, but your phone must be put away at all times. Cell phone use is not allowed while driving.

Q: What time should I arrive for my behind-the-wheel lesson?
A: Please arrive at the school 30 minutes before your scheduled lesson time.

Q: How long does it takes to finish the Behind the Wheel driving?

A: According to Louisiana Title 55 guidelines, adults have 90 days to complete their behind-the-wheel instruction, and teens have 120 days. At 504 Driving Academy, we make sure our students finish well before those deadlines. Typically, students complete their behind-the-wheel portion within four to six weeks of starting with us.

Q: What happens if I fail the Behind the Wheel portion of the class?

A: If a student fails to achieve 70%, they will be given an opportunity to practice and retest at no charge.

Q: What happens if I fail the Road Skills Test?
